Mercer Court Divisions
The Circuit Court can include circuit, associate circuit, probate, family, juvenile, criminal, civil, small claims, and traffic divisions. A public search result may use one of those labels to show the type of case and the division handling it. Criminal files can show charges, pleas, bond, warrants, dispositions, and sentence entries. Civil files can show petitions, service, motions, judgments, garnishments, and satisfaction entries. Family files can show dissolution, custody, support, paternity, or protection order records, with redactions for sensitive information.
Probate matters stay within the circuit court system but have their own Probate Division label. Estate records often show wills, letters, inventories, claims, settlements, and closing orders. Guardianship and conservatorship cases can be more restricted because they may include medical evidence, minor information, protected-person details, and annual reports.
Princeton Municipal Court
Princeton Municipal Court is the main local lower court identified in official city sources. It handles city ordinance and municipal traffic matters. The court calendar and dress-code page says courthouse hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except holidays and declared disasters or emergency situations. The court procedure page says phones must be turned off, photography and audio recording are prohibited, and food and drink are not allowed in the courtroom.
Municipal cases matter for record users because a missed local traffic or ordinance court date can lead to a bench warrant or failure-to-appear entry. Federal Courts Are Separate
Mercer County is in the federal Western District of Missouri, but federal court records are not held by the Mercer County Circuit Clerk-Recorder. Federal civil, criminal, bankruptcy, appellate, and prisoner matters use federal clerks and federal search systems. County court records and federal court records may involve the same person, but they are separate files in separate systems.

Official research did not locate a courthouse parking map, public transit route, or ADA entrance map, so visitors should call the relevant office before a timed hearing or if mobility access must be confirmed.
Princeton Municipal Court publishes detailed courtroom conduct rules. Phones must be turned off. Photography and audio recording are prohibited. No food or drink is allowed. Dress rules restrict shorts, certain hats, hair curlers, halter or tube tops, see-through tops, flip flops, ripped jeans, exposed underwear or midriff, and clothing that promotes illegal or inappropriate activity, violence, sex acts, illegal drugs, or profanity. Those rules are municipal sources, but they are useful practical guidance for anyone appearing in a small courthouse setting.
